Chili Con Carne Recipe
Food, I mean I can talk / smell / look at food all day. But when you're eating clean it gets pretty tough cooking some tasty grub that's going to fill you up. Introducing: Sam's extra awesome Chili Con Carnaliscious (yeah, it deserves that title) It's a Chili that uses our favourite ingredient, Salsa. Salsa has literally saved our lives from being tastless in the flavour department, because oh my days does it pack a punch.
We're also a massive fan of 'Takes-next-to-no-time-to-cook-because-we're-always-hungry' sort of meals. Hence the tiny list of ingredients and cutting out of all the culinary gymnastics. Hope you like it, so here we go...
Ingredients (serves 2):
500g of 5% Fat Mince Beef
1 Pack of Mushrooms
1 Red Onion
1 Can of Chopped Tomatoes
1 Pot of Hot Salsa
1/2 a Can of Kidney Beans
Some low fat cheese (or MyProtein cheese)
Method (to the madness):
Grab a big pot and brown the mince beef in it.
Once it's all browned up, chuck in the chopped Red Onions and Mushrooms then brown these as well.
Then throw in the can of Chopped Tomatoes (I mean don't actually throw, we're not Joe Wicks here, it may get messy...) and the 1/2 can of Kidney Beans and the pot of Hot Salsa.
Add some Season-all spice (or anything extra you like) and simmer on a low heat for around 30 - 45 minutes.
Add some (or a lot!) of grated cheese and a pack of wholegrain rice if you like (although it's tasty on it's own if you're going low carb at the moment)
Please note that my food photography skills are not on point so hence the mush that is the Chili Con Carne above.
Aside from that, give it a go and let us know what you think! We hope it'll be Mexellent (get it?! Damn I'm good).
